Jon Barnes

Jon is working as the CEO of Hope Now UK, which is a Christian charity that aims to “bring hope, by sharing the love of Jesus and making Him known by ministering to those in spiritual, physical and emotional need.” Hope Now works mainly in Ukraine, but since 2014 the work has extended to Sri Lanka.  

God has blessed this ministry since its beginning in 1985, and many lives have been changed for the better. Life is very difficult in Ukraine, and there is a great need to show compassion and love to the poor, but greater still is the need to introduce them to a God who loves and cares for them.

Please Pray

• For Jon as he leads the team in Southampton who receive and box up aid to be sent to Ukraine, that it would arrive safely and be used to demonstrate the love and care of God to those in particular need. 

• For Misha and the team in Cherkasy as they distribute aid and support for refugees, as well as coordinating a wide range of ministries. May God give them strength to cope with the distressing stories that they hear, and to be able to offer comfort and hope. 

• For Jon as he speaks regularly at supporting churches and also makes connections with the Ukrainian community in the UK – for the Lord’s wisdom and discernment in his use of time and in all decisions.
